Welcome to The Artist In You! Blog

"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it's the only thing that ever has."
~ Margaret Mead ~

Everyone has an artist inside them. Each day we create! We create our lives, step by step. With each new venture or adventure in life, that part of us that is the ARTIST can emerge and make life just a wee bit more interesting?

What did you create today? SHARE!

Celebrating YOUR creativity, YOUR ideas, YOUR causes, YOUR events are important to ALL of US!

"Goodwill is the mightiest practical force in the Universe."
~ Talmudic Saying ~

What is our ultimate goal for The Artist In You?

To bring people together!
To bring people together to SHARE and INSPIRE!
To bring people together from ALL OVER THE GLOBE, to create a formidable, diverse, POSITIVE ENERGY!
To engage in POSITIVE CHANGE whether it be in attendance to one of many LIVE events we create, or from the privacy of their own computer!
Every one of us is a WORK OF ART when perceived as so, in the eyes of our beholders!

Together we build a better world; we help those who need our help; we inspire others to join us in a MOVEMENT that is totally inclusive and we make new strides each day for better days, better lives for each person as we reach out and 'touch' their hearts

"Real art is one of the most powerful forces in the rise of mankind, and he who renders it accessible to as many people as possible is a benefactor of humanity"
~ Zoltan Kodály ~

In the words of Desmond Tutu, from his book "Made For Goodness", these words re-affirmed my 'vision':

"We are endowed with this gift of creativity. Anyone who has seen a dancer in motion or an artist at work, anyone who has enjoyed the skill of a good cook or watched a child build a sandcastle or make a mud pie, knows that human creativity is inherent." I wanted to take a moment to share these words with all of you, in tandem with a more personal story...

Many years ago, I participated in Forum 2000 during the UN Millennium Summit in New York. Standing in the reception hall, waiting for my friend and mentor from UNESCO, I saw a man with a LUMINOUS smile walking straight to me. He said, "You have such a beautiful light from within, it almost blinded me from across the room!" Then, he giggled. He threw his arms around me, and said "Tell me more about YOU!"

During that event my mission was all about MUSIC: how it heals, soothes, inspires and how, by gathering musicians together for a cause, it can change the world! Delighted and, again giggling, he began to grab everyone he knew in proximity of where we were standing to introduce me.

That man was Desmond Tutu. That moment was one of the best in my life.

You never know who 'sees' you, and I have to say I just LOVE this man. With his ever positive energy, enthusiasm, the best giggle on the planet and I encourage everyone to read his book.

Moreover, I wanted to share this story because all of you who are participating in THIS MISSION should know that you are made for goodness - I applaud and welcome you to share all of that positive energy with each of us as often as you choose to!

"Our solutions MUST be beyond anything we have ever considered. We should not be afraid to try Bold NEW approaches."
~ Mary Landrieu ~

"And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same."
~ Nelson Mandela ~
