“One of my favorite things about the Sizzix Big Shot is how easy it is to operate — it's the first thing my six-year-old granddaughter wants to do when she comes to visit!" said Eileen Hull, Licensed Designer for Sizzix.

LAKE FOREST, Calif. (PRWEB) June 13, 2013

Now there’s more creative options than ever when creating with mat board and chipboard. The Picket Fence collection of die cutting and embossing products for Sizzix® and its Big Shot™ die cutting machine easily transform ordinary chipboard and mat board into stylish arts and crafts creations.

Among the exciting projects that can be easily customized with each crafter’s unique personality are charming albums, cards, invitations, party favors, décor, and cherished keepsakes with garden-inspired Bigz™, Sizzlits®, and ScoreBoards™ dies. Elegant Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folders add classic garden textures to any craft project.

“My signature ScoreBoards dies cut and score thick materials like mat board and chipboard, using a technology unique to Sizzix,” said Hull. “One of my favorite things about the Sizzix Big Shot is how easy it is to operate — it's the first thing my six-year-old granddaughter wants to do when she comes to visit!"

Dimensional albums, birdhouses, canning jars and window boxes highlight Eileen’s Picket Fence collection. Stylish flowers, vines, plant markers, and seed packet envelopes add the perfect embellishing touch.

“ScoreBoards is a specialty line that lends itself to creating unique, country-inspired creations,” said Denzil Quick, Director of Product Development for Sizzix. “The heavy mat board or chipboard material makes sturdy boxes, books and heirloom pieces that can be assembled in minutes!”

The Picket Fence collection by Eileen Hull is now available in stores around the country, including local craft boutiques and major retail craft chains. For more information, visitSizzix.com.

Stitches Through Time

by Scott Loveall

Dancing Iris2Sue Davis is a fascinating artist to me. She has a mind that must see the way a handyman sees a task he has never attempted and comes up with a new and unique way of solving the problem or fixing a stubborn door. I first walked in to Sue's Ft. Wayne, Indiana gallery in 1990. The jaw in my mind's eye dropped. I'm sure my posture changed and mouth turned into a perfect 'O'. My mind had switched out of conscious mode. I was on autopilot. My feet tried to move without me and my eyes wanted to be everywhere at once.

Who runs a matte through a sewing machine and stitches it with metallic thread?

Who embeds circles and rectangles of fired clay tiles into windows of five layered cut out mattes?

Who adds dye to epoxies and creates dew-like droplets of pastels around bands of gold leaf foil that are etched by hand with delicate designs?

Who puts all that in the same piece?

With LACE?

Is this old hat today? These were not just paintings or sculptures, this was collaborative engineering. Little tribes of art, different species brought to a common moment to sing and cohabit together. It was everywhere, one more intriguing and creative than the next. I wanted it all. In the end I could never have decided on just one piece. I could walk out, get away, rush to my car and not look back or spend money I did not have. After all I had a dog on the way. I bought three. I named two of them.

District Attorney Adam Schiff cross stitch chart

by Tracie Koziura

Districy Attorney Adam SchiffPlayed by Steven Hill, Districy Attorney Adam Schiff was a character in the Law & Order TV series from 1990 until 2000.

Steven Hill had an unusual experience when he appeared on Broadway in Henry Denker's "A Far Country", portraying Sigmund Freud at the age of 35. On April 12, 1961, Hill was stricken with a virus the night of a sold-out performance for the Masters Children's Center of Dobbs Ferry. As a result, the producers decided to cancel the performance just as the curtain was about to go up. Among the notables in the audience were Joseph P. Kennedy, Jack Benny, and Richard Rodgers. The audience was invited to exchange its ticket stubs for other performances.

This cross stitch chart is one from a series of six I created several years ago - the other five being Det. Eddie Green, Det. Lennie Briscoe, Lt. Anita Van Buren, Executive Asst D.A. Jack McCoy and Asst. D.A. Abbie Carmichael.

The downloadable ZIP file for this cross stitch chart contains a full black and white symbol chart, key and thread requirements along with a conversion chart from Anchor to DMC threads.
