Your Eyes
Sometimes we never know
When a random act of kindness
May keep another
Alive.
She was born into a family
Restricted from music
For many years
Her father
Not quite the ultimate dad
Abused her
Heightened her fear
Of the world outside
She remained shy and reclusive
For many years to come
Until that day her mom
Bundled her up
And took her away
With hope for a new beginning
With determination
To dry those tears
She went to her first concert
That little girl of fourteen
She stood in line
For a guitar pick
Your eyes met hers
Your smile
A gift
Treasured since
Throughout the years
She was kidnapped
An innocent virgin
Beaten and raped
By a viscous band
Of drug dealers
Then finally rescued
Found bound and gagged
In a closet
With another peer
For weeks she rocked
Back and forth
Memory losses were a gift.
But the greatest gift
That kept her alive
Was that smile
It was YOUR EYES
That made her realize
That all men are not cruel
It was that moment when you smiled
That kept her alive.
Many years passed
As she looked for you
To Thank YOU for that moment in time
She found you
On Facebook
Idolized her hero, perhaps more
Than might be reasonable
For any hero to endure
But, through my long time friendship
With you
This is a story
I just had to share
Between the Gemini and the Scorpio
For those who dream
For those who dare
To cross that line of comfort
In conversations, now
You two must dare to share.

My Huggy Bear
Let's go eat some sushi
And talk about our day
Of failed auditions
And lost missions
We'll mangé our blues away!
We will laugh
At our insecurities
We will heal each other's wounds
You'll analyze me thoroughly
We'll sing some well known tunes
Playing in the background
As Goro's knife swings through the air
Creating yet another fine dish
To cure our worries and
Lighten the burden
Of another day we've shared
I miss those days and nights at "Brothers"
When true best friends we were
Always caring for one another
Always taking time to share
Our private thoughts and dreams
You were my real life HUGGY BEAR!
But now distance between us,
May sometimes put us apart
I still look for your approval
In matters of the heart
Remembering you with love and laughter
As these many years "role" by
My true best friend and sushi partner
My most favorite, favorite guy!

Visions
From dreams she
Awakens
Drenched in sweat
Truth, love and
Passion not
Sufficient
At daybreak
The hue is
Indigo
At midnight
The music
Trash metal

Little Girl Lost
Little girl lost
Inside a dream
It's a vision
A mission
A recurring scene
Mountain climbing all alone
With all the friends she's ever known
Let her pass
Let her fall
Let her fly
On her own.
Now at the top
Looking down
Scared she'll tumble to far ground
They cheer her on
Without a net
Take the plunge
Forget the threat
Of defeat
As rocks crumble
Beneath her feet
Go on!
Go on!
She looks UP
Born anew
She remembers
How she flew
Once before
She soared
Through the sky
Forgetting reasons why
Now born again
With new strength
She finds the courage
To go the length
But still so frightened and alone
She awakens
Reaching for the phone
and for YOU.

Just You
'Left turn from hell',
Your chilling words rang so true
I was just another one of those people
Talking at you
On the same page
Yet, from a different stage
I, truly, see
JUST YOU
I can only imagine
The fury you must sometimes feel
Reflecting
On other people’s unfounded expectations
Who fail to see
How very real
YOU are
Sensitive and Ingenious
Creative and discreet
A true new leader
Lives in YOU
And before your life is complete
You will find the final courage
To accept YOUR destiny
To carry that torch
And run your own direction
Light the world
In your own reflection
Let them see
YOUR very own prophetic fantasy
Let them know
The very heart of YOU
On the same page
Yet, in a world apart
From a different stage
Yet, of the same heart
YOU are not alone
YOU will not be betrayed
By those who SEE
JUST YOU.
