Poggie!

Poggie (aka Taz) is a German Shepherd/Rottie first cross who is now 14 years old and has been my best friend since the day he found me at just 9 weeks of age!

Our story is no different to anyone else who is fortunate enough to find that one special animal in their life that they connect with in a way words can never begin to describe...but it is OUR story and nothing can ever take that away from either of us, in this life or any other.

On the 14th July 2010, he was officially diagnosed with Posterior Paresis (progressive paralysis of the hind legs) due to the deterioration of the myelin sheath surrounding the nerves along his spinal column. Although he will feel no pain with this condition, it will only be a matter of months before the day comes when he will be granted the peace and dignity he has earned and rightly deserves. That decision can only be made by me and I know I owe it to my special friend to have the strength and courage to make it when the time comes.

In the meantime, we will do what all Poggies and their two-leggeds do...have FUN!
