Imagine for a moment....

A child who lives in poverty, without running water or electricity...

There are so many!

Then, a package arrives!

From their devoted sponsor, who writes to them and learns about how they live in a country many will never even know!

She inspires them and learns about their families, their dreams and hopes!

This person is my sister.

This time, this auction is a bit "personal".

For many years, I have admired my sister's commitment to sponsor so many children around the world.  She doesn't just spend her money to do this; she engages with "her kids"!

So, I finally realized that if these darling children are "her kids", they are my "nieces and nephews".  I wanted to give them each a gift of my art and encourage them to create too!

So, with every dollar you bid, with every treasure you win, we will be sending these children basic art supplies to INSPIRE THEM to create! I will also be including a work of my art that I hope will make them SMILE!

We hope that you share in our enthusiasm to touch the hearts, the minds of these children too!

Thank YOU for YOUR SUPPORT and Participation!  Every bid, every donation, no matter how "small" is truly appreciated!

One Love!

FINE ART AMERICA ROCKS! Have YOU been there yet?

Fine Art America.com truly rocks!  Have YOU been there yet?

HER LITTLE COLTAs a burgeoning artist, I began to create with a mission to give back!  As Founding Chairperson of ART4GOOD Foundation, I also wanted to "take a walk in the artists' shoes", and so I am constantly looking for opportuntities to expand our mission to "Inspire Change With Every Brush Stroke!"

Recently, I discovered, that unlike most of the multiple artist web-sites out there, Fine Art America is not only efficient and affordable, but there are so many more opportunities for both the artists and the art collectors!

Unique Surfaces too!  Whether you are shopping for a small framed print, or you are the more adventurous, cutting edge art collector, Fine Art America showcases the artists' works on Canvas, Metal, and Acrylic.

For those who still like to communicate with cards, what could be better than to send a card to a friend showcasing a newly discovered artist's work?

So, I signed on.

Until now, my works have been, exclusively, showcased on

ART4GOOD Auctions!

Now, you can collect them

HERE

too!

and...

Coming Soon!

We are also launching a gallery site for ART4GOOD Foundation on Fine Art America!  We will showcase our FAVORITES; works of art by all of our Artists Giving Back!

Stay tuned!

We're Gonna Have to FACE it: We Are Addicted to the "LIKE!" :) <3!

We're Gonna Have to FACE it:

We Are Addicted to the "LIKE!"

by Wendie Busig-Kohn

Does anyone remember what was the key trigger that launched Facebook's success?   Mark-zuckerberg-le-fondateur-de-facebook

It was "relationship status". How much has changed since then?

Whether you are on Facebook to keep up with the latest news, trends, works of art, or simply posting new photos of your family and personal adventures, there is one thing that all "Facebookers" share in common:  that hope for lots of LIKES!

It makes everyone feel good when they achieve likes on their posts, and, on the other hand, when those likes do not generate, it can also result in hurt feelings.

Facebook keeps changing; mostly improving, but it is a task in itself to keep up with these changes; to adjust and simply "prevail" out there on the newsfeed, isn't it?

Regardless of why you initially joined Facebook, and no matter how often you feel the need to share, to post, we all share one thing in common:  that HOPE that others will appreciate and enjoy what we have to say, showcase, or share.

There are countless "tutorials" and "advice groups" that intend to teach us how to create posts that will garner more attention.  But, the bottom line is, we each have our own style, our own missions, our own priorities, and precious moments in life that we want to share with others, don't we?

I have only a few suggestions, that may help; lessons that I have learned in my four years of posting and sharing on Facebook:

1) If you don't click LIKE on the posts of others, they will probably not click LIKE on yours!

2) Do your best to engage your friends.  No one really cares about what you are about to eat or what is playing on the radio in your car.  Give of YOURSELF, be a "friend"; one who shares and cares about other friends too!

3) Never get nasty!  What is the old analogy?  "If you can't say something nice, say nothing at all"!  There is never a need to hurt another friend's feelings, even if you do not agree with their post or like what they have posted.  The best way to LOSE a friend is to publicly humiliate them by being PUBLICLY NEGATIVE.

4) SHARE!  Share the posts of friends that you DO LIKE!  It will make their day!

5)  Don't forget to wish EVERYONE on your friends' list HAPPY BIRTHDAY!  The first and most obvious reason is that it is the right thing to do.  But, it will also regenerate the interaction between you.  Sometimes, you might not see posts by certain friends for weeks or months.  Then, suddenly, the day after you wished them "Happy Birthday", their posts appear on your news feed the very next day!

6) THANK YOU.  It's that simple!  When your friends comment positively, share your posts, or they just click LIKE, it is a very good idea to take a moment and say "Thank YOU".  We forget, sometimes, how viable and valuable those two little words are, don't we?

7) Last, but not least, when you have time, try to visit the profile pages of your favorite friends.  Odds are, you have missed a lot!!

I, sincerely, hope that this post has been helpful, and I look forward to your continual friendship!

One Love!

For the Love of Horses and Children!

Online Auction Open! Let the Bidding Begin!

BELLA LOW RESThe PROJECT ARROWHEAD: FOR THE LOVE OF HORSES AND CHILDREN Auction Event is now open. The auction will run from March 18, 2013 to March 24, 2013!

Project Arrowhead©

The Project Arrowhead© service is unique because of its mission and its collaboration with Full Horsepower, an equestrian distance riding and training team and its horses. The Project Arrowhead© team includes a master horseman, an equestrian manager, educators and coordinators, residing in Maryland, USA.

Protect Yourself 1, Inc.’s Founder Jean Albert Renaud (JAR), designed the Project Arrowhead service, that targets youth living in disadvantaged areas, and uses horses/Mustang as a vehicle to get the attention of the general public. The Project Arrowhead© service connects Mustangs and youth from all walks of life. In a sense, both youth and Mustangs face the same challenges. They experience extreme aggressiveness, fear, malnutrition, exposure to diseases, and have to face survival on a daily basis with these handicaps.

Through the Project Arrowhead© service they meet and exchange an unspoken language using gestures which, overtime, increases trust and love between each other. The youth develop a calming attitude, attentiveness, patience and discipline, and the once-wild and untamed Mustang becomes gentler, attentive and domesticated as he adapts to his new environment. The service enhances youth teamwork and leadership skills, and provides an opportunity for them to transfer the experience to their daily challenges in a positive way. Through the Project Arrowhead© service, both can be protected and guided towards living a productive, successful and healthy life.

The Project Arrowhead© service encourages awareness and education for all youth, especially those living in high risk areas where HIV and related diseases have an infection rate which is alarming. The service, using hands-on activities involving the wild horse; Mustang, nature, gardening, ecology, health education, yoga and delivers the overall message of social and personal responsibility that develops a sense of mutual respect for youth; the American future and Mustang; the American Icon, and by doing so increases positive youth behaviors and wild horse Mustang preservation.

The PY1 corporate team has produced and developed the Project Arrowhead© service in Maryland. Since 2005, Project Arrowhead©, Inc. has demonstrated experience by developing a very successful service with horses/Mustang and at-risk youth from different organizations such as United Planning Organization (POWER: Providing Opportunities with Educational Readiness) from Washington DC, Guide Program, Inc., Woodbourne School and Park Heights Avenue Fellowship Association from Baltimore City, MD. The youth involved showed an increase of positive behaviors after approaching the horses/Mustang, and participating in the hands-on activities of the service.
