All day long
By the shore
Crabs crawl
Down to the sea
Each one sidewinding
From day through night
Going, going, gone
Hopping and clacking
I step gingerly
Just to wet my feet one last time
Kindly watch my toes
Let me be, crabbies
Mid way to the waves
Nowhere to step
Oh, that was close
Please don’t draw blood
Quirky little critters
Run the other way
Sand getting wet, almost there
Two by two we make our journey
Under the late summer sky
Veiled threats of stormy clouds
Watching the sky now
X marks the spot I shouldn’t step
Yowls of pain, my toes got bitten
Zero chance I’ll make it to the sea
