From April 10th, 2012, a selection of art works and poetry that are being considered for the very first publication of "Art and Time" - a unique and innovative Coffee Table Book filled with beautiful images and inspiring words of art - will be posted here on The Artist In You Blog.
Studies show that the art market has suffered more than any other during this recent economy - many people avoid purchasing new works because they have simply 'run out of wall space'. "Art and Time" provides the perfect solution.
Your pledge of support will enable us to create and publish this timeless, classic collection of images and words to inspire. Ripples of good will continue after publication giving exposure for burgeoning artists and The Artist In You, as we hope to inspire everyone to discover the joy that comes with creativity!
Living With Demons
Lately my world is occupied with monsters
Beasts that inhabit my home,
Sometimes they have fangs dripping with blood
Eyes, red and terrible filling me with fear
Others moan like ghosts dragging chains
Of past sins that weigh them down
Trying to catch up to me
To pass on their horror and free themselves
Why now, what happened that I should
Deserve this terror, the dreadfulness
So alarming I can no longer sleep
Or is this a slumber, a nightmare?
I can no longer tell the reality
From the traumatic dreams, or corporality
Rather than the state of my spiritual form
Why am I being stalked and by what?
Am I being penalized for past sins
So shocking that there is no punishment
In the here and now, no jail
On this earth to satisfy the gods of retribution
For whatever I have done, I don’t know anymore
I beg forgiveness and plead that the ghastly monsters leave
Please go and bring back my peace and tranquility
And I promise to be endlessly virtuous forevermore.

Sometimes we never know
When a random act of kindness
May keep another
Alive.
She was born into a family
Restricted from music
For many years
Her father
Not quite the ultimate dad
Abused her
Heightened her fear
Of the world outside
She remained shy and reclusive
For many years to come
Until that day her mom
Bundled her up
And took her away
With hope for a new beginning
With determination
To dry those tears
She went to her first concert
That little girl of fourteen
She stood in line
For a guitar pick
Your eyes met hers
Your smile
A gift
Treasured since
Throughout the years
She was kidnapped
An innocent virgin
Beaten and raped
By a viscous band
Of drug dealers
Then finally rescued
Found bound and gagged
In a closet
With another peer
For weeks she rocked
Back and forth
Memory losses were a gift.
But the greatest gift
That kept her alive
Was that smile
It was YOUR EYES
That made her realize
That all men are not cruel
It was that moment when you smiled
That kept her alive.
Many years passed
As she looked for you
To Thank YOU for that moment in time

Let's go eat some sushi
And talk about our day
Of failed auditions
And lost missions
We'll mangé our blues away!
We will laugh
At our insecurities

Little girl lost
Inside a dream
It's a vision
A mission
A recurring scene
Mountain climbing all alone
With all the friends she's ever known
Let her pass
Let her fall

On her own.

Looking down
Scared she'll tumble to far ground
They cheer her on
Without a net
